Il Fenicottero

Ice cream shop in Anguillara Sabazia with rich and light ice cream

A short walk from the lakefront in the delightful Anguillara Sabazia, there's a gelateria, Andrea Sorgini's, that's well worth a visit for enthusiasts. The ice cream makers offer rich but balanced flavours, with a selection that explores the local area, seasons, and classic gelato flavours, as well as indulgent treats. Among the offerings are hazelnut (from Tuscia) with a lovely intensity, stracciatella, and good pistachio pesto, as well as the comforting Uovo Sbattuto and Infuso di Vaniglia, and the indulgent caramel with salted peanuts. Water-based flavours include strawberry, plum, organic coconut, and melon, depending on the season. The house specialty is the use of pompìa, a rare Sardinian citrus fruit, transformed into a honey cream and a sorbet (Spremuta di Pompìa) that balances its bitterness well. The venue is charming, and the service is friendly.

The ice cream of Il Fenicottero, what makes it so tasty

The Il Fenicottero gelateria ranked 131st in the 2024 Gelato Festival world rankings. A prestigious recognition for the owner, Andrea Sorgini, who has achieved enormous success in a short time among the residents of Anguillara Sabazia and the many tourists visiting Lake Bracciano. But what makes this ice cream so delicious? The wide selection of unique flavours, from salted peanut and caramel to sweetened cream and a chocolate coating, either classic or white with hazelnut granules. You can also enjoy the coffee cream, spun sugar, and natural yogurt, topped with many additions, including Nutella and granules.
